Knowing how careful you all are with money I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for a decent budgeting app. I need to start tracking how much I spend and need a simple way of doing it.

And no, giving all my money to Kev and then getting back as pocket money doesn't count.....

If you have a Mac, an iPhone or an iPad, iFinance is easy to use and surprisingly feature rich.
But will you have the discipline to record every penny you spend? (Hint: if it’s on your phone, you have a chance. If on your computer only, you don’t, as if you did,you wouldn’t need an app )

I do have a Mac and an iPad but they love at home and not used that much. My phone is a Samsung hence the lean towards an app for it. Open banking lets some of the apps communicate directly with the banks but it fried my brain when I looked at it earlier.

I recently opened a Monzo account to store some of my black cash and so far I've found it to be excellent, with both immediate messages to let you know when you've been paid and importantly when money goes out you get an alert and the opportunity to classify the spend as groceries, transport, utilities and the like as well as allowing you to set up little savings pots for specific projects such as holidays, birthdays, knives, new rucksacks and the like. It will also round up purchases and dump the spare change into a savings pot as well.

Still not as good as sending your money to me though.... :P

That sounds like an option, I will give it a look.

I earn about £5,000,000 a month so if you PM your bank details I will see about setting something up.

There is some poor billionaire philanthropist in Nigeria having a mental meltdown because he can't get anyone to share his good fortune with.
